Who won, who lost and who stole the show at the 2022 Billboard Music Awards

BTS, Halsey, Taylor Swift and Madonna performed (i of them with holograms), while Drake was the nighttime'south biggest winner with a whopping 12 awards.

The Billboard Music Awards 2022 took place on May 1 (May 2, Singapore forenoon) at MGM One thousand Garden Loonshit in Las Vegas with Kelly Clarkson equally host.

Viewers were treated to 15 performances throughout the music extravaganza with 56 awards given out, including for Meridian Artist, Acme Duo/Grouping and Peak Hot 100 Song.

The awards show kicked off with a operation past Taylor Swift, who made her return to the BBMA stage with her new single, ME!, after terminal performing in 2013.

Madonna also performed her new single, Medellin – with the help of reggaeton vocalizer Maluma and a few Madonna holograms. The vocal is the starting time single from her upcoming album, Madame 10 (dropping Jun 14).

Three-time Billboard Music Awards winner, Halsey, took to the stage twice – the first time in a scarlet body suit to perform her No 1 unmarried, Without Me, and later in the evening with Korean stars BTS to perform their catchy collaboration, Male child With Luv. That second performance stole the show, earning the loudest applause and screams from teenage girls of the night.

Speaking of BTS, the biggest male child ring in the world also took home a couple of awards, namely, Height Duo/Group and Top Social Creative person.

Rap star Drake was undoubtedly the night'due south biggest winner, though, walking abroad with a whopping 12 awards, including Summit Creative person (edging out Ed Sheeran and Post Malone), Top Billboard 200 Album for Scorpion and Pinnacle 100 Artist. He now has a full of 27 wins throughout his career.

Drake cheekily gave a shout-out to Game Of Thrones during i of his acceptance speeches: "Shout-out to Arya Stark for putting in that work final week, ayy!"

Other large winners included Cardi B with six awards; Maroon 5 with four; and Ella Mai, Ozuna, Luke Combs and Lauren Daigle tied with three wins apiece.

Mariah Carey was honoured with the Billboard Music Icon award for her xix-yr career.
